How it works
cost/day = size × rate × 3 (three 8h windows)
annualized = rate × 3 × 365
Worked example
$10,000 long at 0.01%/8h pays $3 daily, $42 across two weeks. At a spicy 0.1%/8h the same hold costs $420.
FAQ
Who pays funding to whom?
When the rate is positive, longs pay shorts; negative, shorts pay longs. It exists to pin the perp to spot.
Can funding be an income strategy?
Delta-neutral desks short the perp and hold spot to collect it. It works until the rate flips, which it does.
