How it works
profit/month = tokens × price − hosting
payback = cost ÷ monthly profit
Worked example
A $1,500 node emitting 40 tokens/month at $3 nets $110 after hosting: 13.6 months to payback if emissions and price both hold, which historically is the hard part.

What is the usual failure mode?
Emission schedules decay by design while node count grows, so per-node tokens fall exactly as early buyers dump the token. Model a falling curve, not a flat one.
Are node licenses securities?
Regulators increasingly think some are. That legal risk sits outside this math but belongs in your decision.
